I assembled the 12 inch piece of pipe I used for the upright to the floor flange using "loctite". Then I faced off the bottom of flange so this would be perfectly perpendicular to the mounting plate. I had a heck of a time finding a floor flange that was even close to perpendicular, so I really needed to do this. I had only made one pass when I took this picture and if you look closely you can see how far off it was. I wound up taking off at least and 1/8 of and inch.
